"DOG SURVIVAL GAME" - THE NEW SOCIAL CAMPAIGN OF THE MANAGER OF A4 KATOWICE-KRAKÓW MOTORWAY TAKES PLACE IN THE WORLD OF MINECRAFT

5 02 2018 #Press information

Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. launched an educational campaign that raises the problem of dogs abandoned by the roads. The core of the campaign is a competition addressed to Minecraft players, whose virtual stories aim at helping to create a responsible and humanitarian attitude towards animals. The ambassadors of the campaign were popular YouTubers: MagdalenaMariaMonika, RoxMb and Vertez.

The beginning date of the campaign is not accidental - winter holidays, just like summer holidays, are the time when there are more cases of abandoning dogs by the roads. In order to draw people's attention to this negative phenomenon, the manager of A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway reaches for one of the most popular online tools - the Minecraft game. The competition for the best stories created in Minecraft, dealing with the problem of abandoning pets by the roads, is addressed primarily to children and adolescents who, due to their sensitivity to the fate of their pets, can shape the attitudes of adults.

'The campaign is aimed at young people, because often at their request a dog becomes a new family member. It happens that it is an ill-considered gift, e.g. a Christmas gift, which quickly overwhelms the number of duties or becomes an obstacle when the family plans to go on holidays. Getting rid of dogs in a cruel way, by throwing them out of cars or leaving by the roads, is a real problem that we transfer to the virtual world in our campaign. Using the powerful communication potential of the Minecraft game and appealing to the children's and young people's sensitivity, we have a chance to get through to their parents. The aim of the competition is to show, in a creative way, the responsibility of having a dog and how to treat animals kindly', says Rafał Czechowski, spokesman of SAM SA.

At the beginning of winter holidays, the YouTubers and Minecraft players invited to cooperation - MagdalenaMariaMonika, RoxMb and Vertez -  announced the beginning of the competition Dog survival game through their channels in social media. Teasers have nearly half a million views,
and the competition organiser receives dozens of works every day. Authors of the best stories will meet with the Minecraft stars during the final of the campaign, which will take place in March this year. Awards include also: a professional gaming chair and sets of original gadgets
 with signatures of Minecraft stars.

'I got involved in this campaign because I am the owner of the animal and I cannot even imagine that I could abandon it in such a cruel way. The objective of this campaign is very important to me, so I want to make other people sensitive to such situations. I encourage you to join us and take part in the competition, because it is not only fun but also an important issue for all of us', says RoxMb.

Information about SAM SA

Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. manages the 60-km section of the A4 Katowice-Kraków motorway. This is the first fully operational road of this type in Poland, built as part of the public-private partnership, as a brownfield project  on the basis of the road constructed in the 1970s  and 1980s. Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. obtained a license for its adaptation to the requirements of the toll motorway and operation in 1997. It required numerous investments. All investment projects and current maintenance of road lanes are funded from revenues obtained from the collection of tolls for the concession section and loans received from the international banking consortium. Unlike other concessions for the management of toll motorways, the project implemented by Stalexport Autostrada S. A. does not burden the State Treasury with any obligations. Moreover, it has not received any grants or guarantees of the Treasury.
